About the WASPkid

For starters, WASPkid doesn't mean what most people think. Though I suppose my version of European ancestry could possibly qualify for that as well, in this case it refers to my mom and her experience in WWII as a member of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP). She was an amazing lady who had some incredible experiences and you will likely see references to her here often.

I'm just your basic, middle-aged family guy. When I'm not working, blending massive volumes of soil for nurseries, landscape contractors, golf courses or farmers, I have a few pastimes. First comes time with my family, followed closely by  riding my Harley as much as possible, trying to see just how many vegetables I can grow in my very limited space and finding creative ways to prepare them to get the most from their natural flavors. I'm pretty new to the blog scene, so if you're a writing critic, you may not appreciate all of my quirks.

Unlike professional blogs that are intended to drive you to a commercial web site or to educate or sell you something, this is just a place for me to share events, news, etc that interest me (and hopefully you). Please join the discussion, but please remember that this is a family show. Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment and let me know how I'm doing.
